With Adrien Broner looking to headline a pay-per-view card vs Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada the attention shifts to who will be the co-feature. Keith Thurman looks to be a possible “big thing” in the sport of boxing and is scheduled to be the co-main event for this Golden Boy ppv come December 14, 2013. Problem is Keith Thurman is looking for a significant opponent, but has no takers yet.
Golden Boy was looking at matching up Keith with Robert Guerrero, who lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May, but Robert Guerrero was uninterested in the match-up. Robert Guerrero has been looking for bigger names for bigger pay and looks to be a main event instead of a co-feature.
A tough fighter is currently in talks to rise to the occasion to take on young Keith Thurman. There is a high possibility that Keith Thurman will face Jesus Soto Karass. Jesus Soto Karass is coming off a sensational 12th round TKO victory over Andre Berto and seems like viable opposition for Thurman.
If Keith Thurman does fight Jesus Soto Karass he plans to use him as a stepping stone to set up bigger and brighter things for 2014. If Keith Thurman shall win.
When asked about a possible match with Jesus Soto Karass, Keith Thurman said “looks like another knockout victim.”
There is nothing set in stone for Thurman just yet, but look for Golden Boy to set up an exciting match-up to make the Adrien Broner vs Marcos Maidana a very fan friendly boxing affair.
